The Publishing Horizon

This is the first post in this new blog which will track happenings, opportunities, ideas and developments in the world of publishing, covering

• publishing of content of various kinds (subjects, age groups, specialities, fiction, non-fiction, children's, STM, entertainment, information, textbooks etc.)
• publishing in different language from around the world,
• publishing in different medium (print, graphics, audio, video etc.),
• publishing in different format (books, magazines, CDs/DVDs, newspapers, web, mobile etc.),
• the entire process from conceiving what to publish, to creating, editing and producing it , to distributing and retailing it to the end consumer,
• the business and financial aspect of publishing and
• the organisations and the people active in the publishing process all over the world.

This will be a personal and by no means comprehensive view, to state the obvious, through the lens of a multi-language, multi-format publisher in the nascent, under-served and high growth market, that is India.
