Eligibility Criteria	Any Indian student from an Indian school below the age of 18 years as on 30th July 2004.
Application Details	Must provide the details of the invention submitted for the award in not more than 5000 words in English including an abstract (in not more than 100 words), authenticated (by giving seal and date) and sent through the Principal/ Head of the School where the student is enrolled and personal details on a separate page as follows: Name, date of birth, school and residential address, class, telephone no. (residence/school), e-mail address. Send details to the address mentioned below.
Deadline	Applications received on or before 30th July 2004 will be considered for the Award.

Admission to Class VIII at the Rashtriya Indian Militiary College, Dehradun

Name of the Institution	Rashtriya Indian Militiary College (RIMC), Dehradun
Courses offered	Class X and Class XII exams through CBSE. The College is administered by the Union Ministry of Defence, through the Director General of Military Training, Army. RIMC is perhaps the only institution in the country where exams for Class X and XII are conducted twice a year, in May and November. . The College offers the science stream only at the +2 level.

Accreditation Status	These exams/certifications are recognized by CBSE
Admission Criteria	Only 25 Cadets are admitted every six-months. Candidates should not be less than 11 ½ years of age or must not have attained the age of 13 years in January and July of the term they join. Admissions are made to Class VIII only. The Candidate must be studying in Class VII or above in a recognized school at the time of joining. They should also be medically fit for entry to the College, in accordance with the medical standards prescribed. Application forms are to be submitted to respective State governments. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in an All India Entrance Examination held twice a year comprising a written examination consisting of test papers in English (125 marks), Mathematics (200 marks) and General Knowledge (75 marks), successful candidates are called for Viva – Voce test (50 marks). A merit list is prepared and those who qualify are sent for medical examinations. Those finally cleared are invited to join up.

Other Information	The College provides education on the lines of residential public schools principally for boys who desire to join the Defence forces of India. Those who do not succeed in this aim or decide against it are well qualified to join a college or professional institution on graduation from the RIMC. However, the College advises only those to apply who are interested in taking up the challenge of serving in the Defence forces of India. Generally one vacancy per state is reserved for candidates. If the selected student does not join a candidate in reserve joins. The candidate can be withdrawn at any time on the request by parent or by a decision of the college. The total cost of training adds upto nearly Rs. 150,000 per annum, most of it is borne by the Govt. of India. Parents have to pay Rs. 18,600 per annum. The fee is likely to be revised every 3 years.
